Not sure what is happening!!!

Hi there!

Since we’re a tiny group (for now!), it’d be great to get to know each other a bit better.

So… I’ll go first. :)

My name is Yav. I’m 39, late-diagnosed with ADHD, with the usual suspicions of autism—which I don’t have the headspace to explore right now.

Most of my headspace is taken up by nuro.club and the Viberie project (not quite there yet!).

I’ve also realized that many of my friends and the people I find most interesting—show obvious signs of ADHD. So I’m unusually hopeful that I’ll find the right people here (and that they’ll find me… hehe).

Have fun! :)

Hey Yav, I am not diagnosed, but have suspicions that I may have similar conditions like your owns. May you give me some resources where I can self-diagnose (if possible), or I have to go to some institution or what?

you bet 🤭

I'm sharing a link from a startup in the neurodivergence diagnostic space.
It's quite comprehensive and free (for now at least):

Hey,

I'm Neda, also late-diagnosed at 37 (only a few months ago). ADHD and Autism which made me panick at first, but starting to get the hang of it.

Got myself tested after many years of feeling completely burnt out. I am a Bulgarian expat living in Belgium which I also think helped unlock many symptoms, combined with the pressure of working in accounting (imagine all the deadlines, high expectations and responsibilities, in a non-neurospicy-friendly environment).

Now I'm getting better, learning to unmask and to stand up for myself.

Definitely need support and understanding which is why I'm so happy to be joining Viberie.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi, I'm Todd. I was late diagnosed recently with 7 disorders and I am an autistic savant who struggled throughout life and now I am growing myself and learning who I am after decades of masking. I look forward to meeting you all and I look forward to talking to viberie ☺️

Hey, Yana here 🍀

I'm a late-identified AuDHDer.

I've been on the personal growth and self help path for many years and always ended up hitting the same walls and falling into the same patterns that I haven't been able to shift. Neurodivergence explained a lot and I find the clarity quite empowering + love connecting the dots and understanding myself better.

That said, the assessment experience has been full of foutdated practice and stigma and it's become clear to me that ADHD support is non existent or inaccessible, espsecially for adults.

I left my corp career in business change to fix that with limitless personalised ADHD coaching.

Meet Viberie 💜

Heya, funny how so many of us late-identified neurokin have worked backwards from a child or other relatives to ur own diagnoses 🤭 And because we tend to flock together and most of our circle relates to our experiences, we just don't clock it earlier 😶‍🌫️

Hi I’m Ben
I was actually diagnosed at 14, before jumping onto Ritalin for the remainder of my schooling in which made me feel super empty. For the next 10+ years I ignored that diagnosis before over the last year (now 32) breaking down completely with burnout, depression, other personality disorder diagnosis and now going through a formal diagnosis pathway to get help with ADHD symptoms.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone has been dealing with this and hopefully helping others also.

Hey Ben, it's tough going through burnout + extras 🌻
So many of us here will relate unfortunately but that's such a common story with late-identified ADHDers. What I'm trying to say is, in a wicked way it's just right for here 🤭

Hi! I'm April. I was diagnosed about a year ago at 36 with ADHD. I have all of a sudden been able to identify my life struggles and choices that resulted directly from not being diagnosed earlier. I love being a neurodivergent now that I understand it and have had a year to get to know myself a little more and take care of myself mentally without the need for so much masking and people pleasing especially within my career. I think I have finally found my inner voice in figuring out exactly how I feel and how to regulate myself better. I still have a LONGGGGG way to go, but it's nice to see a bright big picture of my neurodivergence and how I can let it shine and truly be me rather than hiding it away or feeling off or down that I couldn't understand my own self! Here's to all the neurodivergent friends out there and to understanding our true self! We really do have a super power and I want us all to understand it so we can all SHINE!

Hey April 🌸

Lovely to chat here!

You've been lucky to find a workplace that gets it!

I'm struggling with the superpower angle but only known for a few months now, give me the year you had and who knows, I might be right there with you 🤭

Hi all 🙂

I'm Abby, based in the Chicago Suburbs!

I was diagnosed with ADHD initially in elementary school (age 10 I think) and was on Adderall for a short bit, I hated how it impacted my appetite so I made my mom take me off it and went without intervention all through high school, college and grad school. Looking back I'm not sure how I did it 😂 I was re diagnosed until 4 years ago. Now I'm 31, happily medicated for ADHD, Major Depression and Generalized Anxiety and I've been seeing my therapist (who also has ADHD!) regularly for the last 2 years 😁

I've learned a lot about my ADHD in therapy but I think I've learned even more from recently moving in with my boyfriend (he's neurotypical but a very anxious dude) early this year. He has been amazing but definitely has me noticing things I do differently that I never even noticed before and we are both learning how to communicate better about it lately. If anyone knows of good resources to explain ADHD to a loved one, I would love recommendations! We currently are reading ADHD and Us by Anita Roberston, LCSW.

Look forward to growing and learning with all of you :)

Hey Abby 🌸 Us late-identified neurokin often wonder how we survived school 😹 and you opted out from meds on purpose 🤭
This is a major one why we know Viberie will have a place in the world now because after finally getting diagnosed you get offered meds or the highway. And there must be more we can get as neurokin than being swatted away like this.

ADHD will impact relationships, viberie has a few good flows on that. BUT you made me wonder whether we want a few flows for family and friends to understand life with the ADHD neurotype better
